Comedian and TV presenter Jay Leno may be known for telling jokes to audiences, but the latest episode of Leno’s hit show Jay Leno’s Garage is no laughing matter. The episode takes a look at the next steps for the space industry and the potential for life on Mars in the future. Leno joins them Tesla Inc TSLA and SpaceX chairman Elon Musk.

What happened: Over the years, Leno has shared a connection with Musk, featuring him on his show to highlight vehicles like the Tesla Roadster, Tesla Plaid, and upcoming Tesla Cybertruck.

The new episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage” will see the two in a different garage covering a different type of vehicle, with the episode highlighting SpaceX’s Starship rocket.

The episode, which will air September 21 at 10:00 p.m. EDT on CNBC, will be highlighted with an exclusive tour of SpaceX’s Texas headquarters.

Leno will be hosting a live YouTube video on September 21 at 2:00 p.m. EDT where he will answer fan questions and discuss the Musk episode. Leno also said he will share more details from his interview President Joe Biden and mark what else is in store for us in the seventh season of the hit series.

Show topics: The ten minute trailer released from CNBC highlights several issues being discussed between Musk and Leno.

“I’m meeting with one of the greatest innovators of all time, Elon Musk,” Leno said.

Starbase Tour themes include aliens, multiplanetary species, transcending the limits of space and reusable rockets.

Leno said the US had this great space race before saying goodbye to it, something Musk is helping to change.

“We’re making great strides here,” Musk said.

Musk called reusable rockets the holy grail of the space industry, while Leno questioned why it took so long to develop.

“You wouldn’t get on a plane and use it once,” Leno said.

Musk noted that it is a difficult technical issue and many improvements are needed to complete it.

Leno praised the size and scope of the Starship rocket, calling it a “technological marvel” and the “tallest, most powerful rocket ever built.”

“It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen,” added the former Tonight Show host

Another topic of conversation was the manufacture of the SpaceX rockets.

“We’re underweight the value of manufacturing,” Musk said.

SpaceX’s CEO said the company is preparing to make one rocket a month and will be able to make one every three days going forward. The increased production capacity could help bring a million people to Mars and make it a self-sustaining planet.

Other guests on the episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage” are skateboarders Tony Hawk and comedian Tig Notaro. Hawk is seen with a Corvette Stingray containing parts of a Tesla vehicle. In the episode, Notaro shows Leno a state-of-the-art mobile home.

Another past episode was introduced Ford Motor Company f chairman Jim Farley and highlighted the F-150 Lightning pickup. Leno praised the truck’s smoothness and called it a game changer for electric vehicles.

The seventh season of Jay Leno’s Garage has been unveiled Brie Larson, Post Malone and “Stranger Things” star Gate Matarazzo.
