JOB OVERVIEW
The GBV and Child Safeguarding Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Child Safeguarding (CP) programs, including multiple sites. This role includes strategic planning, technical leadership, capacity building, employee support and oversight, internal and external coordination and senior management representation, proposal development and reporting.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
strategic planning
- Provide strategic direction and conduct analysis of GBV and CP trends, service gaps and IMC capacity to guide IMC programming in the country
- Contribution to national GBV, CP and protection and interagency strategies
- Conduct GBV and CP assessments as needed, maximize available information sources and opportunities for coordination, and ensure compliance with safety and ethical standards
- Ensure GBV programs are driven by women and girls and planned with community stakeholders
- Identify appropriate locations and orientations for services
- Develop concept notes/suggestions/objections as needed
project management
- Liaison with national, regional and central bodies for activities related to grants and program management (proposals, amendments, reports, updates and ad hoc information requests).
- Contribute as needed and attend donor meetings.
- Lead the development of GBV and CP proposals, concept notes and appeals
- Develop and implement high quality GBV and CP programs consistent with identified needs and IMC minimum standards for GBV and CP.
- Lead sector kick-off, closure and review meetings as required and ensure timely documentation and follow-up of action items.
- Ensure effective collection, management and consolidation of data in accordance with ethical standards, IMC data protection standards and a survivor-centric approach, and timely submission of donor reports.
- Ensuring that conservation-related funds are used in accordance with donor requirements, including quality and timely reporting and trend analysis.
- Overseeing pipeline preparation for the department, ensuring monthly variances are monitored and cost forecasts are accurate, realistic and based on documents submitted to the procurement department
- Coordinate with the Grants Department to ensure timely submission of donors, reports and Humanitarian Coordination Forum requests.
- Ensure integration of health, GBV and CP interventions through coordination with health and senior management
- Monitor performance against established indicators, donor requirements, and IMC program guidelines
Senior coordination, representation and advocacy
- Contribute to top-level coordination with other departments in the mission.
- Participate in the coordination mechanisms and represent IMC in advocacy with donors, partners and authorities.
- Participate in meetings, working groups and/or committees related to gender-based violence, child protection and child protection.
- Coordinate with other service providers to ensure holistic support for survivors of gender-based violence and children at risk, including participation in strengthening SOPs and referral pathways
- Represent IMC’s GBV and CP programming in relevant coordination meetings and with a range of stakeholders
- Contribute to multi-agency efforts to strengthen CP and GBV prevention and control by actively participating in coordination mechanisms and promoting sector principles, standards and guidelines
- Where possible, coordinate with other sectors and build capacity to ensure the integration of GBV and CP concerns into diverse services and broader humanitarian responses
- Engage with relevant humanitarian actors, donors and other stakeholders as needed

- Selection and orientation of program staff/volunteers/partners for effective implementation
- Support, coach and supervise staff to build capacity and improve the quality of interventions
- Develop employee support strategies, encourage team building and introduce principles of self-care
- Provide supportive and constructive feedback and conduct regular performance reviews
financial management
- Develop work plans in line with financial pipelines
- Plan and procure materials required for program activities in line with budget and project timelines
- Make sure you comply with the donor regulations
safety and behavior
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies
- Consider the security implications of programs and review plans with teams and appropriate stakeholders
- Foster a safe and supportive work environment for all GBV staff/volunteers/partners
- Illustrate the core principles of protection programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, non-violence, and promoting gender equality
- Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, particularly through compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with Anti-Harassment, Safeguarding and PSEA policies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Typically a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Advanced degree an advantage, particularly in related fields such as Social Work, Public Health, International Development or Gender Studies. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted where appropriate. • Typically 8+ years of relevant experience, including GBV and CP program development and management • Minimum of 1 year international, humanitarian experience • Demonstrated application of GBV core competencies and commitment to core conservation programming principles • Relevant regional experience preferred • Experience with humanitarian architecture and knowledge of mandates/roles of donors, UN agencies and other NGOs • Strong knowledge of standards and guidelines for GBV and CP programming, coordination and data management • Knowledge of standards and guidelines regarding protection from SEA and child safeguarding • Experience with GBV and CP case management services • Facilitation experience required • Supervision experience required • Experience working with local partners and community mobilization preferred • Profound cross-cultural awareness • Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible and experience and Use guidance for advancement Challenges • Strong communication s Kills, both verbal and written
