The candidates should have passed the first chance plus two with 50% grades each in physics, chemistry and biology and a total of 60% grades in the three subjects. They must also achieve at least 50% of the points in English. Candidates should have reached the age of 17 on December 31, 2022; they should not be older than 24 years. Of the 145 places for Indians, 30 are reserved for women.

There will be a 30-minute computer-based ToELR test consisting of 40 multiple-choice, 2-point questions. The test assesses candidates’ English language skills, comprehension and logical skills. Half a point would be deducted for each wrong answer. Those who participated in sporting events and NCC and soldiers’ stations would receive additional weighting in the ranking. To be included in the ranking, candidates must qualify in the mental aptitude test; Grades would not be considered as a criterion for ranking. In addition, candidates must undergo a thorough medical test.
