High school sports roundup (Jan. 23) – Baltimore Sun

Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action from Monday, January 23rd.

Hereford 45, Catonsville 28: Lauren Kraft led the Bulls with 17 points, while Annabelle Grenzer had 12. Lauren Orner finished with nine points.

Harford Tech 54, Eastern Tech 38: Anyia Gibson and Amya Goodsell each had doubles in the Cobras’ win. Gibson had 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Goodsell finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also had five assists. Jessica Castro added 11 points in the win.

Havre de Grace 39, North Harford 35: The Warriors beat the Hawks after 19 points and 15 rebounds from Azareya Whiting. Sanai Knox pulled down 12 rebounds to go with her five points. Lillian Alexander had a key steal late and Ryleigh Curry hit two clutch foul shots to seal the win. Caroline Nicholson led the Hawks with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jenna Amrhein had seven points and Lillian Duffy finished with five points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Fallston 38, Edgewood 24: Ayla Galloway had a monster game for the Cougars, posting a triple-double with 20 points, 20 rebounds and 10 steals. Freshman Brooke Bolesta backed her up with five points and six rebounds. Maddy Burns had eight rebounds and Lindsey Dettloff had six assists.

River Hill 48, Notre Dame Prep 25: Saturday in the Private vs Public challenge, the Hawks advanced to 11-2 as Camille Nesmith scored 11 points and Dylan Watson added 10. Taylor Shane also scored nine for River Hill who have won seven consecutive games.

South River 65, Huntingtown 34: Ryleigh Adams scored 17 points and Skylar Woodyard backed her up with 14 in the Seahawks’ victory. Calen Norton led defensively with 10 steals.

Gerstell 47, Roland Park 38: The Falcons’ zone defense controlled the game en route to the win. Eniyah Stinnette finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Kiara Hardy supported her with 12 points including seven in the fourth quarter. Kendall Williams finished with 11 points and three assists, Marley Saunders had four steals and five rebounds, and Annie Jackson had three steals and five rebounds.

Manchester Valley 65, South Carroll 43: The Mavericks used a 26-point third quarter to beat the Cavaliers after trailing by three at halftime. Emma Penczek scored a game-high 19 points and added six steals. The Mavericks also got a big game from Autumn Stottlemire (15 points), and a second straight double-double from Carmaya Bowman, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Casey Meredith added six points and six assists.

Wilde Lake 76, Chesapeake-AA 47: Xavier Gilliam dominated for the Wildecats (10-3), who scored 26 points, 20 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Dylan Gooden and Nathan Hiteshew each added 11 points for Wilde Lake. For Chesapeake, Caden Nidecker had a team-high 13, while Mitch Collier had 11.

Centennial 51, Winters Mill 39: The Eagles (7-6) got back above .500 after winning their second straight game as Josh Frazier scored a team-high 17 points and Adrien Nyom added 16. Tyler Longwell also chipped in. seven for Centennial.

South River 62, Huntingtown 49: The Seahawks took the victory after 17 points from Cash Herndon. Trashaun Timmons added 12 points, while Jack Schrader and James Crimaudo each scored nine.
