How to call on WhatsApp desktop
WhatsApp has a standard cross-device interface. WhatsApp also syncs messages across devices, making the app easy to use regardless of the platform.
Note:
WhatsApp supports desktop calling on Windows 10 64-bit version 1903 and later and macOS 10.13 and later. Only one-to-one calling is currently supported, although group calling may be included in future updates. You also need a microphone and camera connected to your computer to make calls. Video calls are not supported on devices without a camera.
How to make WhatsApp voice calls on Windows or macOS
Here’s how to use WhatsApp Desktop on Windows or macOS to make voice calls over a working internet connection.

Open the WhatsApp for Windows or macOS app and follow the onscreen instructions to link to the WhatsApp app on your phone.

Open WhatsApp on your phone.

Go to settings > Linked Devices > Link a device.

Scan the QR code on the desktop app with the WhatsApp scanner on your phone.

On WhatsApp Desktop, select the contact you want to make the WhatsApp call to.

Choose voice call Symbol.

Allow access to the microphone.
Note:
Select on Windows Go to settings > Privacy & Security > microphone. On macOS, select To allow to give WhatsApp access to the microphone.

Choose to end a call to end the connection when the call is over.
How to make WhatsApp video calls on Windows or macOS
The video call button is next to the voice call. Follow the same steps to link the mobile app to the desktop app before starting a video call over the web.

Open the WhatsApp for Windows or macOS app.

Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the WhatsApp app on your phone.

Open WhatsApp on your phone and go to settings > Linked Devices > Link a device.

Scan the QR code on the desktop app with the WhatsApp scanner on your phone.

Select the contact for the WhatsApp call.

Choose video call next to the voice calls icon.

Give WhatsApp access to the camera and microphone on the desktop.
Note:
Select on Windows Go to settings > Privacy & Security > microphone. On macOS, select To allow to grant WhatsApp access to the microphone and camera.

Choose to end a call to end the connection when the call is over.
How to switch between voice and video calls on WhatsApp
You can also quickly switch a contact from a voice call to a video call.

Start a voice call with a contact.

Hover over the camera Icon during the call. You will see them Please switch to video call Mouseover information over the camera icon.

Choose camera Symbol. The contact will receive a request to transition on their mobile or desktop app.

They can choose whether they want to click OK or Switch Switch or select call Cancel reject and keep the voice call.
