First Point of Presence in Arkansas will offer additional high-speed connectivity options to businesses throughout central Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Fremont, Calif.-based Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone, announced today that it has deployed a new Point of Presence (PoP) at TierPoint’s data center in Little Rock Has. The new PoP is located at 15707 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock, AK.
Strategically located in the state’s capital and largest city, TierPoint’s Little Rock data center is carrier-neutral and offers 30,000 ft2 Data center space with guaranteed availability of 100%. Part of the TierPoint network, Little Rock connects businesses with millions of people in Dallas, Memphis, St. Louis and Nashville. Home to companies in transportation logistics, aerospace, automotive, healthcare and smart grid technologies, Little Rock has a robust start-up environment.
The economic landscape in Arkansas continues to expand, and according to a recent 2021-2022 report by HireAHelper, Arkansas was the number one state where people moved in 2021, with 44% more people moving into the state than moving out. The state is also home to two startup accelerators, and Little Rock has two fintech accelerators. This PoP is Hurricane Electric’s first location in Arkansas and will provide enterprises in the west-southcentral states with improved fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management when deploying next-generation IP connectivity services.
TierPoint customers in and around Little Rock now have a variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric’s extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network over 100GE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) and GigE -Ports (1 Gigabit Ethernet). In addition, customers in the facility can exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s vast global network, which offers over 20,000 BGP sessions with more than 10,000 different networks across more than 280 key exchange points and thousands of customer and private peering ports.
