BAKERSFIELD, CA – Last year, INTERNATIONAL FRUIT GENETICS LLC (IFG) selected Agricola Andrea SAC in Peru as the winner of its first DW Cain Award competition. Due to the pandemic, the award was presented virtually. Eight months later, IFG CEO Andy Higgins personally presented the long-awaited trophy to the Agricola Andrea leadership team, consisting of owner Jonathan Geller and Marketing & Business Strategy Director Eduardo Mazzini 2022, during the California Field Days in August.
“We are proud to personally recognize Agricola Andrea SAC after making this announcement for virtually the last year,” said Andy Higgins, CEO of IFG. “You really set the standard as the first winners of the DW Cain Award. We look forward to selecting the 2022 winner later this year and continuing to celebrate those licensees who go the extra mile and help achieve our mission of using natural breeding practices to provide consumers with an incredible dining experience.”
The DW Cain Award was presented in honor of IFG founder Dr. David Cain, whose years of dedication and revolutionary breeding developments transformed the industry. The award recognizes licensees who have shown exemplary work in supporting and promoting the IFG vision in the grape industry. The IFG team chose Agricola Andrea SAC for its commitment to quality and as a partner in adopting and promoting IFG’s variety logos and trademarks. In addition, Agricola Andrea was instrumental in the creative representation of IFG in retail, resulting in millions of IFG branded packs being distributed in the market.
To date, Agricola Andrea has been an IFG licensee for almost nine years and is the largest licensed producer of IFG in Peru, producing 100% IFG varieties.
“A passion for excellence is in our hearts and souls,” said Eduardo Mazzini, Director, Marketing & Business Strategy. “This award carries the IFG image and everything that stands behind it, as well as Dr. Cain’s vision for the industry. It is a true privilege and we are truly grateful to receive this award.”
Agricola Andrea is a certified B corporation
Agricola Andrea also announced earlier this year that it is a certified B Corporation or B Corp, part of a global movement of companies that meet the highest standards in verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to drive profit and… reconcile purpose.
