Space Concordia is a student association with over 200 members. Its members make pioneering contributions in the fields of robotics, rocketry, spacecraft and space health. Space Concordia’s Rocketry Division (SCRD) has been developing and manufacturing sounding rockets since 2014. Over the years, the team has competed in the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) and the Spaceport America Cup, the largest rocket competition in the world, with 125 international universities participating.
In 2018, the SCRD team launched its first supersonic rocket, supersonicwin first place ahead of universities like Stanford, WITHCaltech and McGill, who received an honorable mention and two global first-place awards in both the Advanced category and the Space Dynamics Payload Challenge.
Now the Rocketry Division aims even higher. she strive to become the first student team to build a liquid-propelled rocket that will pass the Kármán line (100 km altitude) and reach space. The launch of their StarSailor suborbital rocket is expected to take place in early 2023.
JRTech Solutions has closely followed Space Concordia projects and is therefore very proud to be part of this new space mission. JRTech will be outfitting Space Concordia’s lab with its Pricer electronic shelf labels to aid in rocket construction inventory and logistics management. To commemorate the partnership between JRTech and Space Concordia, Space Concordia will launch one of JRTech’s digital price tags into space.
“JRTech Solutions is an innovator and pioneer in its field of retail technology,” the company claims Matteo Mazzone, President of Space Concordia. “It is important for Space Concordia to work with sponsors who think big, have pioneered the way forward in their own field and whose guidance and expertise will help us fulfill our mission to space.”
