Parker McCollum recently took a stand against a Twitter user who posted a hate-filled comment towards him and rising country star Bailey Zimmerman.
“@baileyzimmerman and @ParkerMcCollum are terrible country singers. Someone had to say it,” the user wrote.
Instead of taking harsh words to heart, the country star decided to look at this negative situation in a more positive light.
He replied: “If you have absolutely no one talking crap about you on social media, you’re not doing too much in your life. I’ll take that as a compliment every time!”
Many fans were quick to come to McCollum’s aid in the comments section, proving that internet trolls are no match for all the loyal support around him.
One fan wrote: “I’ve seen you in person and you’re one of the few who was even BETTER live! Keep it up ~ your fans are rooting for you! 🙌” while another said: “Be you🙌💕”
The Pretty Heart singer’s career has continued to flourish with every step. Much like his reaction to the negative comment, McCollum revealed that he is trying to change his mindset about his career. He tries to slow down a little bit in order to take note of the best moments in every opportunity that comes his way.
“When I started selling out shows, even two, 3,000-capacity rooms around Texas, when we sold them out and we did really well early on,” he shared. Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country. “The high was so great until you wake up the next day and you just realize that everyone who’s ever done this at any level are normal people and you don’t ride the magic carpet after that and it’s all good and gravy. “
He continued, “It’s just real life, and so one, I’ve learned to purposefully try to enjoy the night. And when we play big shows like the Houston Rodeo and stuff like that, ‘hey, slow it down and appreciate how many healthy, living family members you have here,’ and in the big stuff, things like that.”
One person in particular who has helped McCollum follow this new outlook on life is his wife, Hallie Ray Light.
“[With] Hallie Ray, my wife, no more disappointment with her. I think that’s missing from that early time because it’s just human nature, you want that connection and whatever. And with Hallie Ray, I have that, so there’s no falling out with her. He’s so high all the time,” she sighed. “I know it sounds mushy and deep, but I’ve thought about this a lot. It’s funny that you ask and for many years and since I’ve been with him and we’ve been as good as we’ve been, it hasn’t come down.”
The couple is soon approaching their anniversary after he said “I Do” on March 28 at Boxwood Manor in Tomball, Texas. Parker McCollum announced his successful proposal to Hallie Ray on July 1, 2021 on social media with a photo of them sitting next to each other in matching blue shirts, captioned “she said yes!”
As they continue to build and strengthen their relationship on a daily basis, McCollum is also very focused on preparing to share a new collection of music with his fan base.

The new music will follow Parker McCollum through his numerous tours in 2023.
