Three generations of Witherspoons sat down for brunch this weekend and, Young, these genes are strong! Reese, her mother Betty and their 23-year-old daughter Ava all gathered together and snapped a cute photo that looked every inch the triplets.

“Sunday brunch crew 💓🍳🥑,” Reese captioned the photo. Fans flocked to the comments section to take in just how similar these three are. “3 BEAUTIFUL GENERATIONS ❤️,” wrote one user. Another added: “Awww😍 3 beautiful ladies.”
It’s no secret that Reese and Ava are essentially twins. In conversation with InStyle Last year, Gayle King asked the actress how she feels about the fact that fans can’t quite get over the similarities between mother and daughter. “People always love to see you and Ava together because, honestly, no one can deny that she’s your daughter,” King said. “Do you enjoy the reactions you get from people when they see the two of you together on social media?”
“I love being mistaken for her because I feel so young,” Reese replied. “I’m so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I’m sure it’s not easy looking just like your mother.” When Ava gets annoyed by all the mentions of a double, Reese tells her to reach out to Zoë Kravitz.
“We talk to Zoë Kravitz a lot,” Reese explained. “Because she and her mother look exactly alike, whenever Ava is frustrated, I say, ‘Call Zoë. SMS to Zoë. She knows what to talk about.” I mean, that’s another mother-daughter combo that’s like identical twins.”
It’s not just looks that the two share. There are also key qualities that Ava inherited from her mother. In a 2018 post for Reese’s blog Dear Reese, she opened up about where the two converge and how they’re still learning from each other. “I think Ava and I are most alike in our strong opinions and empathy. Ever since she could speak, Ava has had her own ideas and I love watching her express herself,” Reese shared. “She also cares deeply about her family and the world around her. She regularly updates me on news and issues young women face.”
She added that the two have a loving, close relationship. “Nothing beats the love I have for my daughter. We share every emotion, our hopes and dreams… We can talk for hours!!”
