job description
The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast is currently seeking to nominate an exceptional candidate for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
The Tiwari Lab (www.tiwarilab.com) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Molecular Biology. Our team is working on applying functional genomics approaches to decipher gene regulatory networks underlying brain development and function and to understand how these are disrupted in disease.
Epilepsy is a common and serious brain disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. The recruited postdoc will derive and analyze state-of-the-art genomic data from patients to unveil what happens to the transcriptome in the intact human brain during epileptiform activity and how this is regulated via epigenetic states. This innovative, groundbreaking research study brings together the world’s leading experts to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between epileptiform activity and the molecular landscape in the human brain. This will improve the understanding of the mechanistic basis of these biomarkers and help to develop novel transcript and epigenome targeting therapeutics in the future. Depending on your interests, it is also possible to work in bioinformatic analysis.
The following Tiwari Laboratory publications may be referred to for more information on the ongoing research program and to assess eligibility:
