Refuge plans activities for National Public Lands Day | News, Sports, Jobs – SANIBEL-CAPTIVA





REFUGE/DDWS Visitors can enjoy the JN “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge each day for color blind people in the Observation Tower on Wildlife Drive, as well as Morning Mindfulness on September 24 for National Public Lands Day.

That “Thing” The Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge reported that September 24 is National Public Lands Day in the United States, a day to enjoy and show love for refuges, parks and other federally protected green spaces can.

The JN “Thing” Darling National Wildlife Refuge offers the following complimentary activities:

– Free entry to Wildlife Drive from 7am to 7pm

– Morning Mindfulness at 8:30am at the Observation Tower on Wildlife Drive; Pre-register at dingdarling.eventbrite.com

– Self-guided scavenger hunt with prizes from 9am to 4pm; check in at the reception in the Visitor & Education Center

JACQUI ROCH Artist in Residence Jacqui Roch will appear in person at a September 24 National Public Lands Day reception at the JN “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge.

– Nature education programs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Visitor & Education Center

– International Color Blindness Awareness Month promotion at 12:30 p.m. in the Visitor & Education Center Auditorium in partnership with EnChroma
